๐ Farewell to Username & Password Authentication for Downloads
In our quest for the digital equivalent of Fort Knox, we're saying goodbye to username and password authentication for downloads. It's been a good run, but it's time to embrace more secure authentication methods.
Why This Change?
- Boosting security: We're always looking to lock your data tighter than a drum. Removing username/password authentication reduces the risk of unwanted access. ๐ก๏ธ
- Simplifying security: Fewer attack vectors mean a safer environment for everyone. We're streamlining to keep the bad guys out. ๐ซ
Your Next Steps:
- Move to a more secure authentication method: We recommend moving to OIDC authentication,ย entitlement tokens, or API keys, in that order of preference. It's like choosing between a sports car, an SUV, or a reliable sedan for your digital security - all are excellent choices, depending on your needs!
- Mark your calendars: The final curtain username/password authentication call is May 6, 2024. That gives us all 60 days to transition smoothly. ๐
๐ง Brownout Notices:
To ensure everyone's ready, we'll conduct brownouts (temporary disabling) at least seven (7) days before the final removal dates. Stay tuned for specific announcements on these tests!
